The Air2G2 Field Trial 2018/19 on the Pakuranga Golf Course 18th hole green over a 6 month period
Objectives of trial:
To identify whether utilisation of the ‘Air2G2’ unit had any measurable effect upon:
- Average % OM (top 0-80 mm of the profile)
- Average % soil moisture content
- Surface infiltration rates
- Average root depth
- Soil microbiology
The Results
Summary (After 6 months)
- Air injection did not appear to reduce the physical accumulation of organic material
- Root depth of treated area was 15% greater than control
- Surface infiltration (mm/hr) of treated area was 63% faster than control
- Soil moisture % of treated area was 4% lower than the control
- Thatch depth of treated area was 28% lower than the control
- Microbial balance between Bacteria & Fungi was achieved on the treated area after 6 months
